I’m getting married NEXT September in Mississauga but live in Burlington. I know its way too early but Fiance and I just had a convo and a little argument about whether its feasible for either at home service or at a salon. So I am just looking at options now for a salon. I contacted two but they open at 10am at the earlier and prefer a salon earlier than that. There will be 7 (plus flower girl) of us altogether who need to get our hair and makeup done. Wedding party is bride, Maid/Matron of Honor, 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man, mother of the bride and mother of the groom, and flower girl. My Fiance is concerned on time since the ceremony starts at one.
So can anyone recommend a hair salon?

jumping in to follow as I’m going to have the same problem (and currently drive to Guelph to get my hair cut as I’ve yet to find a salon in Mississauga that I like!)

@thelittleone: Donato at Square One, but it’s quite pricey. Also, they charged me and everyone in my party an extra $10 because I was an “early client.” (The salon opens at 9, we were there at 8, and there were other customers there) But they do an AMAZING job. We were all thrilled with how it turned out. I’ve included a pic for you to take a look at. There are enough stylists there that they can get you all in and out the door well before 1 pm.

@mgol25: I’ve seen this place and wondered about it – if you don’t mind, when you say pricey, how much? (PM me if you prefer). People’s definition of pricey can be very different and I’m curious!

@MsGinkgo: The trial was $100 (which, of course, is optional), and the day-of style was $100. As you can see, I had a pretty standard up-to, but pricing “may go up depending on length and thickness of your hair, or how intricate the updo style is (as stated on their information sheet that was sent to me).” As I mentioned, I had to pay an extra $10 for an early opening. Bridal attendants are $75 with a stylist, or $100 with a senior stylist.
If you just want a blow-dry, defined as “any styles involving a round brush/flat iron – straight/curled under/flipped out. (This is done with a round brush ONLY, no irons or hot rollers will be used.)”
¨ Master Stylist: $80+
¨ Senior Stylist 2: $58+
¨ Senior Stylist 1: $48+
¨ Salon Stylist 2: $38+
¨ Salon Stylist 1: $31+
ALL of that being said, I was extremely happy with everyone’s result, with the exception of the $10 charge. That seemed like a cash grab. Let me know if you want me to send you the information sheet. Just PM me your email.
