I didn’t use it and it wasn’t that much of a hassle.  You go to SS first and get a new card, once you get the card, you go to the DMV for a new license (the only thing I had to pay for).  The rest of my stuff, I just faxed or emailed my license in order to change my name.

I bought it, but honestly it wasn’t worth it in the end. It just pre-filled out some forms for me – I still had to actually go to the SS office, DMV, bank, etc. Once you change at the SS office (which is free btw), you can change your drivers license. Once those are done, just change everything else as you come to it – not everything has to be changed at once. I hit the bank in person, and changed all my credit cards/student loans/car loan via phone/websites/mail. I changed it with doctors offices as I went in to appointments (I changed my name in December and just changed my name at my gyn’s office last month!).

I used it because I won a $20 off coupon. I found it helpful. You fill out all your information then it inputs it into all the forms. So instead of filling out all your information 10 times for each form, you only do it once. It also has information on where to file which documents and what to bring. Over all I did find it helpful. Would I have paid for it if I didn’t have the coupon… Probably not.

Yeah, doubt you need it.  I’ve done the SS and DMV and am just tackling the rest as it comes up like @misspeanut:  said.  I think I’ll need to do my insurance next…Doctor’s wouldn’t change me til that was done.

@wifegoodman:  Not at all. The SS is free and I was in and out in 30 minutes. The DMV I simply made an appointment and was also in and out but there is a fee.  The rest where all done through phone calls, faxing, online and scans.

I paid for this service today and thought I’d quickly knock out all the letters that I needed to change my name in one fell swoop. I’ve already been to the SS office and the DMV, so I wanted to get my utilities, insurance, banking, etc, taken care of quickly.

In my experience, this is a very glitchy website and is not user-friendly. Any time I’d enter information for my utilities or bank, it would bring up the IRS form instead of what I’d actually been working on. I’m planning to contact them about getting a full refund because I’m not pleased with the service and won’t be using any of their templates to contact my creditors/vendors.

I just emailed them to ask for a refund. I’ll keep you posted as to how they respond!

They voided my purchase within an hour of asking for a refund and very politely asked me for input on the glitches, which I was happy to provide.

I WANTED the service to be better so I could use it to simplify the process, so I hope they can tweak some of the problems and make it useful to other brides.
