Mixing metallics – does it ever work? (pics!)

@brlabrat:  There is enough distance between those two, and there seems to be a bit of petina type finish on the silver, so I think you could do it.  It might not be the best look, but only standing in front of the mirror can really tell you that.

@brlabrat:  I think the gold would be ok, but I do think keeping the shoes simple is a better option, personally.  But that’s down to taste – the decoration on the heel is not over the top.

In your album there will be a page dedicated to your shoes/accessories up close – if the mismatch doesn’t bug you, you’re golden. Personally, I wouldn’t mix those two items, though they are both gorgeous! I’m sure you can find another fabulous pair of shoes to go with the sash better!

@brlabrat:  If your dress is white, I wouldn’t, unless there are champagne elements in the dress that the shoes will pick up.  Think about a man wearing a white shirt, blue tie, and champagne pocket square – would just look a little bit off.
