I love the milk glass idea. Have you looked on e-bay? I am far away in Texas or i would loan you some. I don't have but a few pieces anyway. Try also asking a local churches to see if they have any they'd be willing to loan out.
I am doing milk glass centerpieces and I have all my friends and family on the look out for them. I only need 4 more! I lucked out recently when my sister came to visit and we went to a quilt shop in a little tiny town about 30 miles from where I live and mit the mother load. I got 9 great compote vases, exactly what I was looking for for about $25.00. So look at the little shops, and small town shops, that's my advise. If you don't find all yours, hit me up after 05/05/12, I may be able to sell you mine!
Ladies! I have 12 milkglass bud vases. 8 are 12inch and 4 are 6 inch. Asking $60 for all 12.

Has anyone used milk glass as centerpieces at their wedding? How about DIY milk glass? How about a combination of both?
I got some milk glass vases for ridiculously low prices -- the lot below, in total, cost me $20:
(There are 3 matching small vases in the middle that aren't milk glass - they're china or ceramic or something.)
(Yay candy dishes! I'm going to fill them with lemonheads because our colors are white and yellow.)
I'm worried that I won't be able to find tons more supercheap milk glass and that I'll need to go the DIY spray paint route with at least half of the vases. Has anyone else done this? I'm worried that the DIY vases will look different and not match. Help?
Also, are there any Chicago or Champaign-Urbana area brides who would be willing to share milk glass vases for centerpieces? My wedding is August 18, 2012.
