If you were a guest, would you prefer a Saturday or Sunday wedding over this holiday weekend? Or would it matter? Do you think it’s a long weekend most guests might feel as if it is an imposition? We have 50/50 local and out-of-town (cross-country) guests. I am getting ready to put a deposit down on either the Saturday January 17th or Sunday January 18th (2015). I can’t decide! Help! Thanks so much!

Personally I wouldn’t care. We don’t have MLK in Canada, but on a Monday long weekend, both of those S days are fair game for weddings.

A lot of people don’t get this day off so I’d say Saturday. I wouldn’t travel for a Sunday because I don’t get Monday off.

I agree that a ton of people don’t get MLK day off. So, I would definitely pick the Saturday.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I think we will have to go with the Sunday date because the wedding package being offered is an amazing value:)

bonbonsparklesMD: I wouldn’t have a preference as a guest and there’d be no money difference for me, so do whatever’s cheaper for you

I don’t get MLK Day off. So, I would likely decline a Sunday wedding. After taking vacation off for the Christmas NYE holidays taking another day in January is just too disruptive at work in the beginning of the year.
Saturday would be best.
