Does anyone else lust after designer sunglasses the way I do?  I'm already stalking some shades for my honeymoon...these are my current favorite :o)

    Kate Spade "Evan"

Anyone else share my shades obssession?

YES! Love those. My favs were a pair of Kate Spades I got on Overstock but I lost them at All Points West last summer. I think I left them in the porta-potty in an attempt not to have them fall in the nastiness. Sigh.

Oh Yes, I love my Arnets, Costas, and RayBans!  My dog ate my DG's but I would love another pair!

I can't afford designer ones, but I do love the big frame ones like that! FI says they make me look like a bug, but hey, it's practical. Not only can I evade the paparazzi, but no sun can leak around the edges of the lenses since they cover half my face.

Yup, I have a sickness!  And I think at $128 those are sooooo worth it!  I really like them.  I actually went to Bloomingdale's the other day and they're having a sale on sunglasses.  There were dior aviators for only $150!  I had to get a pair but other designers were doing the same thing, even Fendi.  You should go, but only the one on 59th, a.k.a the best one!

See, my sunglasses are all prescription so I only get a new pair every year or two.  I wish I could new ones more often but regular sunglasses don't do it for me.  Sure, I'm not squinting, but I can't tell what I'm looking at anyways!

YES!  I worked for Oliver Peoples for a couple of years, so I am pretty loyal to them, but Barton-Perreira and Dita are awesome too!!!  I am seriously obsessed......

@kittyachi: Boooo!  Whenever I go to something like that, I try to keep my hair in ponytail so I can kind of wedge the sunglasses in there in portapotty type sitches.

@jenniferespos: I will have to check that out!  I'll be keeping an eye on my email as well, because Kate Spade often sends out coupons for their website.

@jojo: That's why I splurge!  I've had my Michael Kors pair for the last two years!  It's time for a change :o)

Yeppers. I own a pair of Coach sunglasses that I wear all the time but I ALMOST bought a pair of Kate Spades just like that. Mine are a tortishell brown though.

I wear sunglasses ALL the time. My eyes are light blue and crazy sensitive to the sun (i blame a summer of lifeguarding and being forced to wear shades all the time) so they're a pretty constant accessory for me. I only have 2 really great pairs but they are in constant rotation.

I need some, too! I got my first big girl pair at Stein Mart so they really weren't that expensive, but they were Michael Kors (chosen b/c we had the same initials, haha i'm lame). However, they are SMASHED - i dont know how how it happened, but they're in my car broken to pieces. I am looking for decent ladies aviators - anyone know of any place for me to get some for under 20 bucks? Bonus if you can find some with my new intials, MelissaBegins ;)

@MelissaBegins, try Ebay, although kinda tricky. I usually pick mine up at TJMaxx or Ross really randomly. Sometimes they just have GOOD stuff!

@Melissabegins: cheap sunglasses are actually really bad for your eyes. I honestly cant remember the exact reason why but it has something to do with the lenses reflecting more light into your eyes. Sunglasses are one of the few things you should really invest in!

(and I am a total hypocrite because I wear cheapie Target aviators right now because my Prada and DG sunglasses both broke.. the downside of working summer camp :/ )

My Kate Spades were seriously my most favorite pair of sunglasses ever. I wore them for three years before they got too scratched up to wear :(  I went everywhere looking for a pair just like them, but alas...nothing.  I bought another Kate Spade pair to replace them, but they're a bit too big for my tastes.  Oh well.  They're still really pretty and durable.

I am curious since I am following this post -- Would you say that expensive sunglasses last longer than cheaper sunglasses in terms of regular wear and tear/scratching? I get new sunglasses maybe twice a year because they get scratched in my car or in my purse. I am not the most careful about taking care of them, but I don't throw them around, either.

    @babyboo

What's bad about cheap sunglasses is that they typically don't have UV protection.  The lenses are tinted, blocking light but not harmful UV rays.  So your pupils open up thinking it's all good, but they are opening up to get more damage!

@Amaryllis: Affirmative!  They last longer, and they come with a nice case so that you don't stuff them in your purse or throw them in your car.

I had Ralph Lauren sunglasses for two years as my "main" pair (they're now my "ocean" pair).  When I replace my Michael Kors ones, they'll become my pair for hanging out in the ocean (I like to wear sunglasses when I'm hanging out in the water, not swimming)

You don't have to spend a fortune...MK, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Juicy Couture, etc. all go for about $100.

Some cheaper lenses DO have UV protection. I bought some from Nine West that did and they were fantastic!

Also, my other sunglasses I'd throw around. now that I have an expensive pair, I keep them in a sunglass container, haha. I'm pretty diligent about being careful with them.

And, when I go on vacation to HOT places (mexico), i sub in a pair I won't cry about if they get broken. The heat/sun/UV rays DO break down the plastic and the idea of 5 days in the sun with my absolute favorite pair getting ruined due to sun just isn't worth it so I do go with cheaper, UV-protected lenses that I can wear in the water, the beach, and the sun more extensively.

Seriously, try Overstock. I got my Kate Spades on Overstock. I also got a sweet pair of big white Armani Exchange glasses with rose-colored lenses. So pimp.

I just bought myself a pair of classic RayBan aviators that I've been lustung after for a while. Previously I had been wearing this amazing pair of Marc Jacobs that I wore to death (the screws kept getting loose!)

I love sunglasses!!  I have a pair of classic black Chanel sunglasses, a pair Kate Spade Aviators, and my most recent purchase, a pair Chanel shields with brown tinted lenses and pearls on the side.  I'm not letting myself buy anymore since I think I've got the basics covered, but it doesn't stop me from looking every time I walk by the sunglass display at Nordstrom.

I'm obsessed with sunglasses!  I usually go to my Ray Bans because they go with everything.  I just sold a bunch of them on ebay because I needed the cash: Coach, Gucci, Versace, Oliver Peoples :(.  Now I really wish I hadn't.  I'm kind of wanting these ones now but can't decide if they're too huge:
