can't wait to hear if it works for you!!
bees out there - has anyone been tracking the timing the engagement chicken makers? would be interesting to compile a list to see teh variance in times and situations: e.g. ladies who knew the ring had been purchased/ordered before making the chicken vs. ladies who had only begun the engagement discussions and made the chicken.
i made engagement butternut squash ravioli from scratch...i'm hoping that does the trick!
Good luck! i hope it works. Let us know how it turns out.
Does anyone know the receipe?
Ha! I'm excited to see if it works! I can't make engagement chicken cause he's a pescatarian
I made it about six or so weeks ago. It should work! Any day now..any day.
Good luck, girlie! I tried to make it, but the Boy messed it up, so I have to make it again. lol... I will be thinking good thoughts for all of us and our chicken! lol...
@km, yes! try an engagement fish!
good luck to all the engagement chicken/pasta/fish makers!
@lolaj: here's the recipe http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/engagement-chicken
@mmmtacos: woohoo good luck!!
i am actually making it again on Thanksgiving day tee hee can't hurt, right? seriously it looks easier than a turkey and everyone enjoyed it nearly two months ago when i made it..
I'm totally going to try engagement salmon... when it gets closer to when I know he's going to propose, lol.
I did a variation (second time) with beer butt chicken and used also sliced lemons and onions under the skin. Rubbed it with olive oil and put sea salt on it. Put the beer up the hoo-ha of the chicken and then baked it. Poured lemon juice all over it too and also some sliced up lemons inside of it.
That turned out better than the E chicken!
I have never heard of engagement chicken. Sounds interesting although I am not usually allowed in the kitchen as I tend to be a train wreck when cooking.
I'm doing my variation of the lemon as well using a lemon pepper rub with a lemon pepper marinade and rubbin garlic all over it and an onion and putting the onion and garlic under the skin...
