@mmmtacos: welcome back!!! lol tons of us are still waiting!! but i have an idea of some that won't be waiting for long, and nope i'm not one of them.. i'm thinking at least july for my proposal, we'll see...
Heh. Your boyfriend's "nothing to worry about" comment reminds me of when I had a similar conversation with my fiance. After I had a bit of a freak out over how long I'd have to wait, he finally looked at me and said, "God, I'm gonna propose eventually! Geez." Months later, I found out that he had already met with a jeweler at the time of that conversation.
yay! welcome back mmmtacos! and i'm glad to hear you were able to have a heart to heart about the engagement. i'm hoping to do the same when my guy comes to visit next.
Thanks! We're finally at a point where we can comfortably joke about it happening and the off-the-wall ideas he has for it. I'm glad to be back.
Though, I must admit, I received some of the fabric from India for my wedding lehenga... it's sitting in his spare room, and though he hasn't asked about it, I know he knows what it is! >:)
Mmmm, samosas! lol, sorry, couldn't resist!
Welcome back and so glad to hear that a wonderfully productive and reassuring conversation was had. Sounds as if you've got a thoughtful future thinker on your hands - definitely a keeper!
Welcome back! Glad you had that heart-to-heart with your mister. Congrats!
YaY! Welcome back! I'm glad you had a good conversation that made you feel better :)
See? Smooth sailing now and just time to sit back, relax and enjoy this special phase in your lives.
The man's most likely saving $$ and he's taking a logical approach. I like it!
I think you having the talk is and was a very smart thing to do. Don't you feel better now?
Btw, welcome back!
Yay mmmtacos is back! And yay for having a time frame for engagement! Boo for family drama but I'm glad it went away!
@mmmtacos - welcome back! It's good to see you! I'm still waiting for the ring ... did he ask me to marry him? yes. Do I have shiny bling? no. So I'm hoping I'll be getting that soon ... we had a moment where I got a "you have nothing to worry about" response. And I freaked out a little ... and later I got a "It'll be sooner than you think." Oh, great, that calms my nerves. I just want the ring. I want to be able to go ahead and do something about it and call him my fiance without people looking at me all funny!
But I'm glad you've hashed out some details. Yes, it's a while more to wait - but at least you have an idea!
Oh hurray! You are back! I remember being sad reading about you leaving - glad it was short-lived and things worked out for the best.
Yay!!! I saw a post earlier that you had made and I was wondering...I'm so glad you're back!
Yay, welcome back!!! So glad to hear about all the great developments, too!!!
Yay! I'm new (to posting - but not to reading :) ). Glad to see you back though!
Welcome back!! I knew it would be hard to stay away!!
Yay!!!!!! I'm so very glad you're back! We missed you! I'm a little late to jump on this thread, but I was at work all last night! But seriously, you are awesome and I'm really, really happy to "see" you!

Sorry ladies! Minor family drama kept me away, but of course I couldn't give up the WB addiction for long! ;)
All is well on this end of town - and perhaps some news! My BF and I went out to a nice, impromptu, romantical-type dinner last week! I'm sure the waiter loved being a fly on the wall for this conversation.
We were hashing out details of the engagement!
The BF and I shared some love over samosas, and a few fears on both of our parts. A few things came out of this:
1.) It's happening within the year.
2.) It's happening after his brother's wedding (May)
3.) It's happening after he meets my folks (July)
So I will be waiting a while! However, there is nothing more calming than the sheepish smile he gave when he said I have "nothing to worry about". We had a very serious discussion about some religious issues which may crop up between our families and our future child and how we would tackle them.
We are doing great, and the family drama is over as well. We're off on our first tropical vacation this coming Thursday, and planning another getaway in April to California, except that one will include his mom. :)
I see we have some graduates - so congratulations ladies! And those of us STILL waiting?
We'll get there. :)
