We are having our wedding at the Van Dusen May 2013, guest list is at 100 now (and not going over that number) we are having a full open bar all night (from cocktail hour thru the end of the night) with a seated plated dinner with 3 options. Right now our cost with everything included (and its subject to change on teh catering that our guests pick) for the entire venue decore food drink and Mr. Xray and I get to stay in the Honey Moon suite right there on site @ the Van dusen its just under $12,000 (if we had cut back on the bar and didnt have the steak options we could have brought it down to 8500 but since my rents are pitching in substantially my dad insisted we had to have a full open bar) Hands down Jennifer & her husband matt who run it are WONDERFUL and will work with any budget! and the comps you get there in your rental fee are seccond to none! Highly reccomend!!!

We are having ours on a off day so that brought down the rental fee to 2500 instead of 5000 for saturday or 4000 for friday. The great thing about Jennifer and Matt is its actually Matts dad who owns the Mansion, so its there families who has TONS of years in the hospitality business. I cant say enough how amazing they have been about working with us on our budget and fantastic they are in general! With so much beauty at the actual venue we didnt really need much for decore as its all taken care of by the restored mansion, and wait till your FI sees the “man cave: for the guys in the basement to get ready in, i mean a big private bar, pool table HUGE tv and Xbox kinect the works…. and thats just the guys area!! The girls…. I could live in that room!! As a Make up artist who specializes in Bridal it is a dream come true room to work in!

Yea there are food and bev minimums but the nice thing is is really if you do the bareminimum your going to meet the minimums so really its nice not like a 13000 minimum like another venue we looked at which i couldnt believe!!! (and no im not spending 130$ a per person to come to my wedding I love you yes but not that much!)

Yea, our rental fee was 2500, which is the entire amount of our deposit so when we booked the venue we are paid in full for our rental fee in the deposit so kinda nice to have two in one

I know this post is old but I absolutely loved the Van Dusen masion.

I went with my super opinionated sister who said that people might be annoyed at having to move through the rooms. I asked my BFF and she said “oh big deal! you get to see the whole place and that’s cool” I was super confused by their difference of opinion, lol.

Also, how are you doing your big newlywed reveal?

Hope you respond! And I’m truly jealous, I really loved this venue!
