Here’s my mom.  She saw this dress online and knew right away it was for her!  There are definitley some very strange MOB dresses out there.

@Cheeks225:  was this a DB dress? I think I just saw this online the other day and sent it to my mom!

@PinkAndPearls2013:  Yes!  They have it in this color and I think a cranberry color.

This is my mom’s dress, but she got it in pomegranate, which is a mix between red/pink. . . almost a berry color:

Our wedding is in the afternoon during June, so she wanted something she’d be comfortable in that would fit the afternoon time frame. She’s lost a ton of weight in the last couple of years and this dress looks amazing on her!

My mom wore a dress from Nordstrom, she didn’t like the stuffy traditional MOB dresses either. (She’s on the right.)

I’m glad you posted this because I’ve been wondering the same. My mom and I are having trouble finding a good style and color dress. I have a question, what color should the MOB wear in relation to the “wedding colors”? My wedding colors are navy and silver and she keeps wanting to wear royal blue or something in the blue family… which I feel is too close to my bridesmaids colors. Though Im not sure what it’s supposed to be?

@jenny001:  Aw thanks! She looked really beautiful. Honestly, I think your mom should wear whatever dress she finds that makes her feel and look beautiful, and I wouldn’t worry too much about the colors. My BMs wore blush, sage, and gray, the groomsmen wore gray suits, my mom wore this champagne dress, and my MIL wore a dark purple dress. Everyone was very happy and looked great. If you aren’t picky about colors, that opens up the MOB dress options a whole lot. When my mom and I went shopping, we looked for mostly cocktail-length dresses (it was a fairly casual outdoor wedding) that covered up her shoulders (her own request), had some sparkle, and made her look young/classic (but not too hoochy-mama-young). If your mom’s getting frustrated with the standard MOB options at David Bridal and other wedding-specific stores, check the formalwear section of department stores – Macy’s, Dillard’s, Nordstrom, Saks, etc.
