I would have her go for something neautral/tan!

I guess it depends too on her style. you can go for more of a soothing color – silver or eggplant – or more bold – like sunset orange/red type or a burgandy.

My Colors are Light & Dark Purple with Grey tux for the guys. my mom wanted to wear Coral dress cause ti was pretty….(she doesn’t wear dresses at all and wanted to wear this Prom looking dress and I told her I was not going to let her pay $300 for a dress to wear for 6 hours!!) and I convinced her to go to a Neutral color like Silver or Champagne We will probably get one of these dresses My BM’s will be in Short dresses I just have to see how it looks on mom because she is only 5’2” and I don’t want a long dress to make her look even shorter.

BohemianButterfly:  I second this idea! I think the neutral/tan would look gorgeous! Even a champagne color would look great!

I would suggest pewter or champagne. Both are neutrals and will work well with your colors.

jennifer_jean:  i love the patterned one too! I think a nice floral dress would look lovely for a MOB for a casual spring/summer wedding!

Here’s another floral with a hint of blue!   http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/evan-picone-sleeveless-floral-print-belted-dress?ID=1394075&cm_mmc=Twitter-_-pdpshare-_-n-_-n

If your other color is yellow, could she wear a yellow dress with teal flowers? Otherwise, I would just try to put her in something neutralizing, as the teal really pops.

I don’t think your mom *has* to coordinate–it’s nice if she doesn’t show up in puke orange, I guess (do people vomit orange?), but lots of standard MOB dress are very pretty neutrals for exactly this reason. She should find one she loves in terms of fit and comfort. She won’t be in many (or any?) pictures with the bridal party, so better to get a dress in which she feels confident.

Haha, if she wants to match, ignore me! I think you’re right that she’ll have to be careful about blending in with tan. Department stores will soon be launching fall styles, which will definitely include some really rich jewel tones (and more pretty neutrals) so maybe make a date with her over Labor Day in September?

jennifer_jean:  She could totally do purple, or lapis with teal or yellow accents if she didn’t want to go as bold as yellow and as pale as tan 🙂
