My mom is having a hard time figuring out what she wants to wear to the wedding. She asked me if she should wear the same color as the bridesmaids, or a different color. What do you ladies think?
Our colors are black and white with tiffany blue. The bridesmaids are wearing tiffany blue dresses. My stepmom already bought her dress and it is tiffany blue underneath, with a black overlay.
My mom is pretty trendy and she is only 39, so I don’t want to put her in something that makes her look old…

My mom reallly, really wanted to wear pink, and even though it’s not one of our wedding colors, I wanted her to be happy! So, she’s going to have a gorgeous salmon pink gown with a black accent sash. (Our girls will be in black and dark purple.)
Would you consider adding in a metallic as an accent color? Then, your mother could wear a steely grey or a bronze-colored dress!

My mom really wanted to wear purple b/c it goes w/ yellow… it wasn’t my first choice, but like Bruschetta I wanted to make her happy 🙂
Your mom should look @ White House/Black Market for cute black or black & white dresses 🙂

She could wear something to compliment the bridesmaids and/or wedding colors. I guess it depends on how "matchy" you (or your mother) want her to be with your colors. White House/Black Market is a fantastic suggestion!

White House/Black Market is a great suggestion! Thanks! So you guys don’t think she should try to find a tiffany blue dress? It might be hard to try and match the colors though…

I told my mom she could wear whatever she felt comfortable in, as long as she showed it to me first She ended up having a dress custom made in a beautiful blue color. I think it’s really pretty. Our colors are earthy, so nothing will really clash I hope!

My mom really wanted something different than the traditional MOB dress. She’s cute and fun, so she wanted to feel that way. My mom wore black, which was one of our wedding colors. (My BM wore black, too). She orignally bought another dress in a gold color, but she wasn’t comfortable in it. She ended up finding a pretty, flattering dress at Macy’s in black. The best part is that I know she’ll get to wear it again–who doesn’t love a Little Black Dress.

I think by the time I am married (about 3 1/2 months away) my mom will be able to open up her own MOB dress shop. Since she lives in Texas and I am in Denver I can’t be there everytime she goes shopping, instead my poor dad has too. She is now on her third dress! 🙂
