I personally like the blue one. That color looks great on her. And I think I prefer the one shoulder over a strapless dress for the MOB.
I agree with @calpolyvanessa:. The one strap just seems a lot more appropriate for the MOB.
They both look nice, but I prefer the blue one. I think it's more appropriate for a MOB. It's a beautiful dress and it looks great on her!
@calpolyvanessa: we were thinking that if she DID go with the black one, we'd get a pretty bolero for her as well. She wouldn't wear either of the dresses without one, as it's in October and I have a feeling that in Canada it's going to be a bit chilly! :)
You should tell your mom she has a rockin' bod! She looks great in both.
At first I really did prefer the black dress but after the PP's noted that it might be more appropriate to do a one-shoulder style, I must say that the blue dress is more appropriate.
However, if your mom could get the black dress is blue and add some thin straps, it would be a homerun.
Definitely the blue one. Your mom looks absolutely stunning in it! And the black one looks a little too youthful, IMO.
I like the blue one better too. Her chest looks a bit more supported in that one, and she won't have to worry about pulling at the strapless dress all night.

I like the blue one too. I like the waist band detail, and the cleaner looking lines of it. The ruffles on the black one are just a bit much for me.
I prefer the blue one because of the style.. If the blue one was black.. it would be perfect. I dont like strapless for MOB, but thats just my opinion. And I am not a fan of the sparkly star.. looks too prom-y
She looks lovely in both, but the blue one is more flattering to her figure.
I think the blue one is fantastic. The black one just seems off somehow.

Hi Bees!
My Mum has fallen in love with TWO dresses and can't decide which one she likes better. She loves the blue one (as do I) but then she saw this black one in the window and immediately fell in love. As soon as she put it on she completely lit up in it.
BUT.
The two dresses are very different and each have their own statement. The wedding is in October, and she's not sure if she wants to wear black to my wedding...it COULD be classy and she does look beautiful in it, but the blue is stunning as well.
Which one would you choose? (She has to make up her mind this weekend! Eeek!)
