My mom had two weddings within six months of each other (my brother's was first and mine was six months later) and she didn't want to wear the same dress to both.
She found one at Coldwater Creek and the other at JCPenny! Both carry plus-sized formalwear :)

Oh! And if she's comfortable with it, maybe have her look at consignment shops. I remember my mom found a couple dresses she liked there and wore one for the rehearsal dinner!
