That is such an adorable idea.... I have never heard of this, but why not start the tradition?? I feel the same way about all the help my mom has given me, and she deserves so much thanks. I think it would be a really nice gesture to give your mom some attention and let her celebrate her daughter's impending marriage alongside her best girlfriends.
Maybe gifts don't even have to be involved? Just a nice luncheon with some friends and maybe you can say some nice words about how much of a help and support system she has been?

So - one of my girlfriends thinks she should throw a party for my mom and her girlfriends. I guess this is like a shower type of party, but she is calling it a MOB Luncheon. The idea is that my mom gets to show off for all her friends. The same girlfriend is also planning a shower, with a couple of other friends, so I know this MOB thing is definately not a shower. We were most of the way through a bottle of wine when it came up, so I have to say I am totally unclear on any other details, but I thought I would ask if any of you have had (or heard of) such a thing? It does sound like fun to me - my mom's friends are a kick - and I really don't need another shower or more presents. Maybe the idea is that they bring my mom presents? Heaven knows she is doing a lot of work for this wedding, and deserves the appreciation.
