I think that it looks pretty so far as long as you are going for a winter theme. Otherwise I would google a bit more. I would also be a little carful that it doesn't start to look like a vase arrangement. Also, there is a lady that I am having do my flowers from Ebay that is really reasonable if you send her that first pic (which I think is soooo fun) she would be able to tell you if she could do that for you. Hope this help out a bit!
Could you maybe take and post a picture of you holding the bouquet to get a better feel for size, shape, etc? I think that would be helpful in giving a critique. :-)
I love the colors and the materials. The original had much more of a circular feel. What if you clustered the roses in the center and used teh other materials around the outside? Just a suggestion.
You could always wait until xmas season....there's more variety of winter decor...silver or ice blue flowers, leafs, etc.
the roses look pink and I'm not sure if it's just me but...the colors are clashing a bit.
Miss Snowflake,
I just got finished doing the fall type themed bouquets for my cousin's wedding. I brought in the beads and the leaves as well as roses and lilies.
I think you need to pull your bouquet tighter to give definition to the flowers. I love the color scheme! Don't give up! You're really doing a great job! If you re-do it make sure you post it again!
Another awesome alternative bouquet!http://lechellestyle.blogspot.com/2008/03/bride-bouquet-winter-collection.html

Okay, so...
I tried making the alternative bouquet I posted about how to make. http://www.angelsinteriors.co.uk/images/brid_bouquets_crystal_lg_13.jpg
I just could not figure out how to make it. So, now I am back to the planning board.

p.s. I am a January bride. My colors are light blue, black, silver, and ivory.
So, what do you think? Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated on how to improve the bouquet. Thanks everyone!
