I don’t know if this is allowed where you are, but do they have a nest in the tree? Can you get someone to remove it? Chop down the tree!! haha

Swooping birds is like my worst nightmare, I feel sorry for your dog!

If it were our house, we’d probably shoot a BB gun at the tree. But since you don’t own the property, I dunno if that’s okay. Tennis racket sounds like your best bet, or maybe hose to the tree?

Aww poor puppy!  I have no ideas for you, but that visual makes me feel bad for the poor guy!

If you feel like waiting it out, it’ll probably stop once the eggs hatch.

@MrsDrRose612:  Google search came up with super soaker.  Probably better aim than a hose.  And besides, what adult doesn’t want an excuse to play with a giant water gun?

A blue jay did this once to my poor kitty.  The stupid thing swooped away with the biggest clump of cat fur you’ve ever seen that it tore off her back before she was able to make it to cover under the car.  🙁

A water gun sounds like a pretty good idea to me.  You could also get some sort of noisemaker and make a huge noise whenever you’re out there.

@MrsDrRose612:  A huge tuft of it!  Poor Daisy had a big bald spot halfway down her back for WEEKS.  I like most birds, but mockingbirds and blue jays are evil.

Argh…I think it’s just a repercussion of Spring! We have the same exact problem with our lab in our yard right now! They are some aggressive mamas although I’m sure our pup warrants some of the attacks lol…I’m loving the super soaker idea, although I think I’d feel guilty doing it in the long run!

  • Spikes on top of wherever it is where they sit and watch for him??
  • Netting??
  • You can get those things that make an awful noise so they stay away? (neighbours might not like that).
  • A hose attachment that has a powerful jet and just blast them every time they come near.

I hope you can fix it soon. Usually birds swoop if they feel like their nest/young are threated (I’ve heard) so there must be a nest around somewhere and your dog is upsetting them…… Do they have pest people near you that you can call to come out and have a look?
