I can't think of any in Orange County.. my FI took really great modern E pics of his friends in Palm Springs at some cool hotels. Not sure if thats too far. Otherwise LA or SD may have more options. Most nice hotels that I can think of in OC are on the beach, but they could have different walls or decor inside that could work?
Down in Costa Mesa off of Anton, there is a AMAZING hidden rock garden between a bunch of office buildings (behind the TGI Fridays, 601 Anton Blvd., Costa Mesa). That would be a super neat place for some funky, modern pictures.
Yes Lulusmom is right that area has some great modern areas to take pics, also college campuses ofetn have some really cool funky moden art pieces that could be fun!
I will advise to re-think or call the marketing department to obtain a 'permit'. I wanted an e-session feeling like Aria (LV resort & hotel) commercial in LA area. With my photographer's advise, I called all the hotel's marketing dept if I can have my e-session at their hotel. They all said "No" because, they have other wedding/photo and/or commercial shoot.
Since I really wanted that 'feel/look', our photographer took us to a hotel in downtown LA and started to take pictures. Soon after, security guard came and ask us to leave the property...

My Fiance & I are taking our engagement pictures on January 15th and we don't have our location(s) picked out yet... HELP! We are looking for a hotel with modern/contemporary decor inside as well as a modern outdoor area. We are starting the session at the photographer's studio in downtown orange, so a place in orange county would be best! I DON'T want to do the typical beach engagement pictures!!! (not that there is anything wrong with pictures on the beach... they just aren't ME)... And I'm not exactly a picture in the park type of girl... so i am looking for a modern place to take our pics!Our wedding will be at [seven-degrees], so that might give you a little insight as to what our "style" is. Would it be weird if we took our engagement pics at our wedding venue? :-)
