@pisces315:  I suggest Artesano Ironworks, Tendenza or the Cira Center. I know that with Cescaphe locations you get a lot for your money (reception wise).

When you say modern, what do you mean? I’d check out Front & Palmer. I’ve also heard good things about Cescaphe, though it’s a totally different vibe than Front & Palmer. I don’t think you’ll be able to stick to that budget at Cira Center with Garces catering, but I could be wrong (or maybe you could if you cut in other areas). The Loews Hotel also offers a modern venue, as well as Top of the Tower. I think R2L does weddings, too, but I bet that’d be over your budget. When you say your total budget is $35-40K, I think it will largely depend on where you’re putting your money (how much you want to spend on your dress, how expensive your photographer is, whether you do a band vs. DJ, minimal flowers, etc.). I think it’s important to consider those things, too. If you lower your cost on those items, you can afford a more expensive veune/caterer. Just a thought!

@sweetpea1813:  I agree, do you have a picture of a ballroom you would consider ideal?

@pisces315:  Tendenza. Food is fabulous and it is definitely a more modern looking venue.

These are pictures from my nephew’s wedding held there.

I was also going to recommend Tendenza but I’m not sure if you can do it on that budget. Granted, Cescaphe certainly includes a ton in the price. Plus, you might not even need crazy centerpieces because of all that is going on in the space. I just looked at Tendenza a few weeks ago and it is definitely a gorgeous space for modern brides.

Front and Palmer is also very modern, but I have no idea what the price range for that is.

Also, you might be able to save if you’re willing to hold the wedding on a Friday night. I know a few of these places in the city have high minimum head counts but this head count is also less on Friday nights.

@pisces315:  Your post literally had me cracking up. I said over and over again to my dad and fiance that I cannot STAND the green and gold and red and gold oriental carpets. Neither had any clue what I was talking about but for some reason, the carpet thing was something that totally tweaked me out. I DEFINITELY know what you mean.
