Does your FMIL have to order her dress from a specialty shop? I'm sure she will get her dress together in time for your wedding. Don't stress it. I'm sure you have tons of other things to get done. Good Luck ;-)
Do you know if your FMIL is looking for a traditional MOG dress, or is she planning to buy something off the rack? She may not actually need time to order it.
I'm getting married in July, and both my mom, and FMIL are just going to go to Nordstroms or something to get their dress. I wouldnt' stress just yet - you've still got some time. You're the bride, you've got 10000 other things to worry about! :)
Oh i think she has plenty of time. I think my MIL ordered hers like 3 months early. 6 months is REALLY early to order a non-bridesmaid dress I think!
My mom bought hers at Macys, my MIL got hers at a prom type shop.
In fact, if she waits until after the prom hype, she can get one on sale =]
Don't stress. She may not even get it from a bridal shop. My mom got hers from David's and ordered in like December. I was starting to have a mini-panic because as of this past weekend FMIL didn't get hers yet. Just heard she ended up buying it from Macy's.
It will be fine.
I'm a MOG. After stopping in a local high end shop this week, I found out some places take up to 3 months to deliver, so she will be relegated to off-the-rack if she waits too long. That's fine though- I saw some really pretty dresses at Dillard's yesterday. I actually went to Ross discount afterwards and bought two really nice looking knee length dresses that are almost every bit as attractive as the two hundred dollar models. I buy a slightly larger size that I can have altered down to fit my figure perfectly. It is the fit that is really the key to a knock out look, no matter what the size. Really, besides for the color of the MOG dress, she is really just hurting herself if she doesn't shop it early. She may plan to lose weight before... and that may be why she's dragging her feet- but a really nice thing to do for you would be to send her some links to Jade, Ursala of Switzerland, Karen Miller and Cachet, to get her in that frame of mind.

So I have a dilema, my FMIL has not ordered or even looked at dresses yet. My wedding is in August and I had emailed her when my mother ordered her dress. How long does it usually take for a dress to arrive after it's been ordered? I feel like I should bring it up again but don't want to sound rude, any tactful ways to bring it up?
