Actually, I suppose I need dress suggestions for my FMIL. She's being a good sport, but I don't think she understands that most dresses out there don't meet her requirements and looking a couple of months before the wedding is risky. For FBIL's wedding she went to talbots and bought a suit - that was a long time ago! lol!
So, here's what she wants: sleeves / jacket to cover up old-lady arms, straight fit (she's an apple shape - large on top with twiggy legs), petite size (she's short and her shape doesn't help), color (she's blond/gray, fair skin), cheap (they're not well off), not custom (too risky), not above the knee, something she can wear again to dressy work events.
Here's what I want: pretty (a given), appropriate for outdoor semi-formal wedding, goes okay with wedding colors (blue with greens, yellows - my mom says no bright red or black), fabric that won't get static-y (my mom picked out a great dress, but it will not hang properly and she's panicking now), not polyester satin (in the process of dress shopping I became a fabric snob), not the MOB-type dress with all the sequins and bling.
If FMIL didn't live a thousand miles away I'd drag her shopping.
Ideas? anyone?
