    Hello,

In order to have my MOH "stand out" I picked out her dress in a darker color, length and fabric. Everyone just bought their dresses yesterday and now I am having 2nd thoughts.

    For example:

MOH dress: dark grey, full length, satin

Bridesmaid: light grey, tea length, peau de soie (light material with shine)

Could this work or am I being nervous?

@map2004:  Do you have pictures? And what does your dress look like?

I think iit will depend on the shape and formality of the MOH dress.

I was a MOH for my friend's wedding and she put me in a diff dress... same color but diff style. I think if you're gonna go with diff styles, go with the same color. If you're going to go with the same style, go with two diff shades... two diff styles and two diff shades... especially when the long one doesn't look like the "longer version" of the short one definitely stands out... I personally have mixed feelings about it... But I have OCD and need things to be super "matchy matchy" and "balanced."

I think that you can get away with doing whatever you want to! It is your wedding and if you love the idea of your MOH being distinctly different GO for it! (or keep it in this case).

I actually think they will Look good together. Sometimes different lengths bother me, but I think it works.

For me, they are too different (different length dresses are a personal pet peeve of mine). I think the bridal party needs some unifying factor. You have different sillhouettes, colors, lengths, necklines and fabrics.

IMO the two styles are too different. The shorter dress is fun and flirty while the long gown looks a lot more serious and formal. I would probably have the MOH wear the same dress as the other girls but in the darker shade of grey.

If you're ok with it, and she's ok with it - then go for it :)

For my preferences they're too different - if I was putting my MOH in a different dress I would likely only slightly change the style or colour, I wouldn't change the fabric or length.

If you and your girls are happy with how they look together then go for it!  It's your day afterall : )
