You should not have to pay for a second dress. Have you told the bride that you cannot return it?

I think that if you ordered what you were told to and you did it when the bride told you to, it’s totally not your responsibility to pay for not being able to return yours to get a new one.  If she’s changing the colors and whatnot after the fact, that’s her fault.  I get that it’s sold out and that sucks, but still…
