I think when purchasing for someone else, simple and classic is always a better route. So assuming the "something simple from Tiffany" is in your budget you wanted to spend, I'd go that route. Or - no need to be name brand - something simple and classic from anywhere would be the better option in my opinion.
I have pretty picky tastes when it comes to jewelry, but luckily, I think Tiffany's has a pretty simple and elegant aesthetic that almost any girl would love.

Wondering about a gift for my MOH! Would you, personally, prefer something very simple (a silver necklace with a small silver heart, small silver post earrings, etc.) from Tiffany, or something more ornate (necklace with a real pearl / gem stone, etc.) from a no-name store? The best of both worlds would be something ornate from Tiffany, ha ha, but I definitely can't afford that!
In terms of her personality she could go either way (likes Tiffany but also like sparkly jewelry,) otherwise I would just base it on that - so I thought I'd see what other people would prefer if it were them!
