I think the third option (no halo, woven band) is really unique and beautiful!

Is warmth a concern for you? If it is, I would go with the cushion.

@GatsbyMama:  I have a cushion cut diamond with halo and I absolutely adore it, I get comments constantly, it is so beautiful! That being said, you should always go for what YOU prefer, I love mine so much because it’s exactly what I wanted (emphasis on “I”)!! Choose something you love, you’re the one who has to wear it every day for the rest of your life!

Cushion with no halo!  Cushions look like chubby diamonds, and chubby diamonds make me happy. ^.^  And personally, halos aren’t my cup of tea.  They’re trendy now, but in a decade or so they’ll look dated.  Solitaires are timelessly beautiful! 🙂

@GatsbyMama:  From what I’ve read on this board, the best way to limit the ‘warmth’ from Moissys are to choose a round or cushion stone, stay under 1-1.25 cts., upgrade, order forever brilliant and set in a ‘white’ metal (palladium, platinum, or white gold).

If you look through some of the other threads, there are bees with a wide range of moissy stones though.

@GatsbyMama: First, add a poll.

Second, definitely cushion!  They are so gorgeous!  And I agree that ovals are outdated, but in the end, YOU need to love this ring, not anyone else!

Third, I just posted that cushion halo a few hours ago on a dream ring thread.  It’s SO GORGEOUS!!!  Do you have any finger pics of rings you’ve tried on in person and liked?  That’s a very important part of the ring decision process.  You need to try a ton on in person to really know what’s your style.

@GatsbyMama:

I too was debating cushion v. oval and I ultimately eliminated the oval.

Next time you go look at oval diamonds take a look at the exact center of the ring – you will notice a bow tie shape in the middle – this is from the way the oval stone is cut.  If the diamond is near perfect it will be less noticiable – BUT, it will still be there.  It become more and more visible as the diamond moved down the 4c’s spectrum.  While picking out stones, my jewler pointed this out.  Doesn’ mean its not for you though! Smile
