@Tarheelgurl:  I have one, it doesn’t look unbalanced at all.  My side stones are smaller and a different cut than my center, though.

That said, if I was to do it all over again, I’d have a jeweler custom-cut moissanite baguettes for me.  We love the moissanite, and it bugs my FI a little that the SI diamonds don’t really compare in terms of quality.  The jeweler told me that if it was her ring, she wouldn’t think it was worth the cost, since the side stones just provide accent and reflection to the center.

@Tarheelgurl:  You can also get higher quality diamonds (which honestly would cost less than cutting the moissanite, in all likelihood).  I’ve opted to leave the ring as-is, since I’ve gotten pretty attached.  We’ve talked about upgrading to VS1 diamonds…might do it before the wedding, might not.

@Tarheelgurl:  I’m 90% sure they’d put in any stone you asked for, if you’re willing to pay for the extra labor.  They make very small moissanite round stones, so you might select a ring that has round accents instead of baguettes.  They also make moissanite baguettes in the larger sizes, so if you increased your center size (or maybe just asked them to make it with the larger moissanite baguettes), you could have an all-moissanite ring.

What ring are you thinking of?

@Tarheelgurl:  Ah, yeah, I don’t think they do moissanite marquise.  Boo 🙁
