My ring is a split shank, so that won’t help you, but I have some different advice. For $10 you can order a wax mold of the ring in your size from Moissanite Co. It’s much cheaper than resizing, and you will be able to really see how the ring will look on your finger. Good luck!

@CantMakeUpMyMind:  I got sized twice actually… first time I went the jeweler said I was a 4.  Which yeah I am…. but they told me to go up a quarter size the next time I went because my finger could swell in the summer.  Im glad we went with the 4.25.  I had planned tho to get those “speed bumps” in the ring if it was too big or rotated.  (I always forget what they are actually called; ring balls or something?)  I have a stand in ring from Berricle and I ordered it in 4.  Like I said.. they fit… but sometimes I get nervous because its hard to get over the knuckle.  I know that when I was looking too, moissyco allows you to exchange if the tag is still attached and no custom work.  The ring sizer was pretty accurate for me.  If I were you though, I would stop into another store, and get sized again.  It was a quick and painless ordeal when we got my husband’s finger sized too.  (they didnt try to sell us anything)

@Taeyers:  Oh that’s right… I keep hearing about a wax mold too.  What exactly is that?

@nl: I haven’t ordered one myself, but I’ve seen them on BTD forums. Here’s one thread. Here’s another on the subject. They look very helpful.

@mgnt:  The trouble with this approach is that some people report big mismatches between what their jeweler told them and moissanite co’s sizing. Mine was spot on, but apparently that’s not always the case.

@Taeyers:  Where can I find the place to order a wax in? That seems like a genius idea!

@cirk:  Hmmm… good question. I would start by emailing customer service. They’re always super prompt and helpful in getting back to me, and they seem to handle orders and pricing seamlessly. Instant chat may work too, but people seem to have more trouble getting clear helpful answers that way.

@CantMakeUpMyMind:  The ring sizer that MoissCo sends is not at all accurate.  I would definitely get sized in a real store and rely on that.  Do not depend on those white plastic ring sizers!  And if you’re on the fence about the size, I would go slightly larger.  You can’t wear a ring that’s too tight!

Go to many different jewelry stores and use their metal ring sizer to make sure you have a good idea of what size you are in many different places. My ring size that I ordered was spot on, btw. I ordered from Asha Diamonds, but they are owned by the same people and use the same settings.

@CantMakeUpMyMind:  yep, I have Eng 144 and it fit me very large… I ordered a 5.75 and it was larger than a ring which is size 6. I sent it back and had it sized down 3/4 of a size and it still is about a quarter size too big. I think part of it is how thin the band is, and the other part is that their sizes run big. I’d order down at least half a size than the size you think your finger is.

My fiance got me a size 7 ring from MoissaniteCo because that was the size of my other rings.

However, when I got it, it was HUGE!

I got it sized down to a 6, but then eventually went with a 5, which is crazy, because I am not a tiny girl (curvy).

I have heard that MoissaniteCo rings run big, so you might want to get a size down.

However, even if the ring comes in too big or whatever, you should be able to take it to a local jeweler (or a chain) and they will resize it for you.

I took mine to King’s to get resized and they did it for, like, $35 in about a week.
