I don’t think that this should really be a surprise? You kind of give up the option to see different ring combos together when you’re online and not in a B&M store.

@Simplesparkle:  you can order wax ring molds from them. Did you ever consider that? I emailed them and asked about it and it was no problem at all and totally worth the 10 bucks. I’ve heard the instant chat isn’t as helpful but I’ve had no problems whatsoever with emails. I found that they were actually nicer than some snobs in jewelry stores.

Many of their rings are made-to-order, so it might even be an impossibility for them to do what you need.  I like PP’s suggestion of a wax ring mold.

I see you’re in Canada – just as a heads up, there have been Bees in Canada who have had problems with MoissaniteCo because they do not properly label the packages they ship for insurance. They label them as costume jewelery and have been caught by Canadian customs. I think customs had one Bee’s MoissaniteCo for a couple weeks or something crazy.

Here’s the thread: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/moissaniteco-has-done-it-again#axzz2Tqq8YdTK

The shipping issue has been mentioned in other threads, as well.

Just eyeballing those two rings, I think the stones from the wedding band would rub up against the very bottom stones in the tulip.  Also, the milgrain around that will probably (eventually) eat up ANY tall band you have next to it.  I would probably do a plain wedding band with it, that would definitely sit low enough to not touch the tulip.

I could be wrong, but that very ring is in their sale section, which usually means it is already made and they could check that. Too bad they missed that. The sale ring is 3 carats, and not a set. I would think that would help give you some estimation, which sounds like all you wanted. Congrats on ten years!

Hi Simplesparkle, unfortunately, it is true that because all of our jewelry is made to order, we don’t have the rings in stock to take additional pics upon request.  However as KJA00 as stated it is possible to order wax models of many of our rings to see in person (the designer of these two charge $5/wax). If you can send me an email (just via the website, address it to me), I have have another suggestion for this ring that I think would be even a better match.

As far as the “warning” concerning shipping to Canada, it is not relevant as that was a free replacement/repair, not a new order, and so there was a paperwork issue as we explained in that thread as it was an unusual shipment (and Fedex and Ontario Customs provide little to no guidance prior to shipment).  Moreover in the end all that really happened was a short delay in the delivery date.

We ship at least a dozen packages a week to Canada and its rare that any have problems with Canadian customs.

@Simplesparkle:  I think those are gorgeous and would look great together!  As long as you don’t mind rocking the gap (which I don’t).  If you scour ring porn long enough, I’m sure you’ll find a similar set on some Bee’s finger!

@mikec:  Mike, you guys have a lot of “real” pics posted on your facebook page, but you have so many more rings than that!  Do you (or can you) take a pic of every ring you make before it ships out?  We’d love to see more rings posted more often!  Thanks!

@KJA00:  I keep hearing about these wax molds.  What are they?

I had really great experience with Moissaniteco, and their email was definitely better than their chat help.  I hadn’t realized that they make custom rings, until I wanted another contoured band to fit the other side of my e ring.  They told me it would have to be shipped back in order to get the right fit since it was custom.  Kind of makes me feel good that they aren;t all lying around waiting to be sold… would be a waste with all those pretty moissanites just sitting around waiting to be sold, and mine was put together when it was ordered.  I think that it’s pretty common you can’t see rings together.  (I wanted to get cz rings from berricle and had a hard time finding them on people’s hands.  I tracked a few down on FB with a tip from a fellow bee, and those are in stock already, so it would be easy for them to photograph it)  I will say that Moissaniteco allows returns too, as long as you don’t take the tags off.

@ceebree:  It is an ongoing project we have.  We take pics of about 8 orders a day, but even those need to be cropped, labeled, etc. before we can post on facebook.  But it is something we are working on.  We also have some IT guys working on a seperate picture gallery for our website where we will post these pics.  Unfortunately it all takes time, but it is something we are working on 🙂

I have that same tulip head on my ring but mine has a different band. I think that band would look great. There won’t be a gap really because the setting is very high. My wedding band is a three row pave and works nicely. I have actually considered getting a band similiar to the one you chose in rose gold to stack between them. I had an excellent experience with Moissanite Co and love this vintage tulip setting! It’s beautiful! Good Luck!
