@blushbliss:  I have a moissanite center stone and a diamond halo and diamond band.  I was also a little worried about it looking mismatched, but trust me, it looks perfectly fine.  The diamonds are so small it really doesn’t make a difference at all. In fact, I love how the diamonds sparkle around the moissanite 🙂

I did make sure, however, that the color grade was the same. My moissanite is an H, so I had the diamonds also H.

I have pictures of two different rings side-by-side that are both round forever brilliant moissanite with diamond accents!

  • My ring (on top): 1.25ct enhanced with .10ct diamond accents in twisty band. (purchased from a local jeweler in Austin, TX, $1,600)
  • My mom’s ring (on bottom): 2ct enhanced with .4ct diamond accents on the halo and band.  (purchased from moissaniteco.com eng163a, $1,845 with fb enhancement upgrade)

Hope this helps!

i think that if the sidestones are small enough, like in a pave or a halo, diamonds will be fine. there isn’t enough surface area or depth to them for it to make a difference. now, if it were something like a 3 stone ring, or something with larger side stones, i would go all moissanite, just to be sure.

@blushbliss:  Whether the side stones are moissanite or diamond, the reason why you will see a slight difference in color between a moissanite center stone and accent stones is because the larger stone shows more color, period. The best way to lessen the color difference would be to change the center stone to a diamond in the colorless range (though it sounds like you’re probably going with moissanite, yay!).

I ordered a 2mm moissanite band and next to the tiny diamond band in my mom’s set, there was no significant color difference.  Smaller moissanites and smaller diamonds look identical to me, and I’m very color sensitive.  If you’re getting a moissanite center, I would get whichever accent stones you happen to like more or whichever one fits your budget better, because any color difference that you would notice is not going to be lessened or worsened by the difference between moissanite and diamond in the side stones.

Thanks for the compliment on my stone. I love my moissy!!!  Just want you to be prepared to notice color differences in certain lighting, that way it won’t take you by surprise.

@yellow15rose:  She can just get accent diamonds that match the color of the moissy like the first Bee who responded did. They look perfect together!

I have diamond side stones and a FB moissanite center equivalent to 1 carat. I don’t notice any difference in the colors.

@always:  Oh!  I’ve never really thought to ask about the color specs on tiny accent diamonds.  I guess I could say more accurately that I am color sensitive about center stones, not about accents because I honestly can’t tell once they get that small!

@blushbliss:  No, we bought it at a local jeweler and they purchased the stone and set it. I have no experience with Moissanite & Co.
