Didn’t get too far before it was deleted. Just many bees telling her not to stir the pot. It was followed up by a “MODS do your jobs” or something like that thread which was also quickly deleted.

@MrsKnox:  I don’t know, but the “What is Moissanite?” thread got closed. Apparently a certain Bee who is obsessed with disparaging moissanite and others can say rude things about moissanite for a couple pages, but nobody can retort.

Obsessed Bee and others seem to think moissanite is a lowly stone because there is no gem quality counterpart in nature, and it was originally marketed as a diamond simulant. I don’t care about that, and that doesn’t devalue the stone at all to me, but they sure think it does. Certain people are obsessed with crapping on moissanite which leads me to ask this; if it’s such a lowly diamond sim, why are you so threatened by it? Nobody has answered, but I am very curious.

@bunnyharriet:  I think the issue is the inherent nature of luxury items.  Whether you’re buying a diamond, or moissy or cz, it’s not money that you actually need to spend, as opposed to food, rent, etc.  Therefore, it’s worth is fully dependent upon those that want to purchase it and not it’s usefulness.  However, since it is still such a large and important purchase, the idea that someone is devaluing it becomes offensive/personal.

@MrsWBS:  She was trolling. She even said she was going to troll until the mods gave her what she wanted. That’s definitely ban worthy.

I’m mostly a lurker, but for the life of me I do not understand why there are so many threads about freaking Moissanite.  I didn’t even know what one was before I came here!   Are there people that are really so offended my its mere existence?

I don’t know why everyone has to rise to the bait on these moissy threads. If you don’t agree with people who make snarky comments, fine, but don’t go jumping into a huge fight and then moaning about them on a different thread. Just ignore it if you’re bothered by it. It’s not mature on anyone’s part.
