If anything, the diamond would look dull compared to the moissanite. Moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamond, which means that it sparkles more.

@GoldfishPie:  Agreed!!  The moissy may sparkle more!!  I know someone else posted about this recently… I’ll try to find pics.

Also… I’m not sure that moissaniteco.com will sell the wedding band if you haven’t purchased the engagement ring there.  Is that where you were planning to buy from?

@Kings7911:  Are you serious?  They sell tons of wedding rings and don’t care at all whether or not you bought the engagement ring there.  The only time they have issues with wedding bands is if you want just the band that is part of a set and you did not purchase the matching ring–and even then they would probably sell it to you if you asked.

OP–if you are getting a pave/channel set ring with small moissanites, no one will be able to tell becuase they will be too tiny.  If you want larger stones, then yes, you will be able to tell that they are not the same stone as the ring.  If that will bother you, then I don’t recommend buying a moissanite wedding band.

I have a center moissanite and side diamonds. They look great next to each other. Also, moissanite actually sparkles more than diamond.

Like someone said, it’s more likely the diamond will look dull next to the moissanite.  For a wedding band, the stones are really small, so I don’t think you are going to notice that much of a difference.

Here’s my set (: My centre stone is Moissanite and all the small stones in my e-ring and wedding bands are diamonds. My Moissy definitely sparkles more (although the diamonds look slightly whiter in dull light). For the most part I don’t notice a difference!

@MrsJenBee:  There are settings that have diamonds for the melee with a moissanite center.  The diamonds are so small, you can’t really see a difference.

I think you’ll be okay.  The stones are only 2.5mm, which is still pretty small.  If you get it and decide it doesn’t look right, you can always return it.
