Wow, that sucks!  I’ve never heard of Molooks.  You know, even if you do eventually get a hold of her, I think I’d be a little hesitant to leave my dress with her for the alterations.  What if she pulls this same thing and it’s right before you’re wedding and she has your dress and isn’t answering?  Maybe you should cut your losses and find someone else who is more professional?  If her voicemail is full it makes me wonder if some poor brides are calling her to get their wedding dresses for a wedding happening soon!

Have you tried seeing if she’s on Facebook or Linkedin and sending her a message through there?  Did she give you a business card with an email address?  Also, you could see if she’s registered with the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint against her.

I am trying to locate her too!  My wedding is in 1.5 months and she told me to come back within a couple months of the wedding to do my alterations.  Now she seems to be MIA, other people are quoting me a fortune to do the alterations, and she also owes me my custom made veil.  I been calling her as well but her voicemail box is full.  I been thinking of driving by her place as well but not sure if that will help.  Let me know if you are able to locate her!

I understand an emergency but to take off from your business for 2 months and not even post an outgoing message on your business voicemail is ridiculous!  Sorry ladies, that really sucks.

I can tell you I love my seamstress, her name is Darcy Martin and she works out of her home in Lynnwood (a little far, but I think she’s worth it).  She has her basement coverted into a little shop with its own entrance, dressing room and everything, its very professional.  She is hemming my dress, adding cups, doing the train and taking the top in for $200.  She also is making me a new sash and trading it to me for free if I give her the belt that came with my dress (I don’t like the belt).  Let me know if you want her contact info.

I been so upset with this place and the fact that they still owe me a veil that i decided to try to keep calling them.  I called the Molook’s number again two days ago and this time there is a different vm message from a guy. He left his number in the vm so I called him.  He finally called me back, said he was her son and that she is in Europe.  He said he will try to find out from her when he talks to her when she will come back.

I have already found another seamstress since i was in a hurry to get started on the alterations though now i wonder if i shoudl have shopped around a bit.  She is taking in the side on the top part, hemming, and bustle for $320 (w tax).  I am just hoping she will do a really good job and on time!!

We will see if i can still get my veil from Molook’s.  Hopefully he calls back.  It just sucks because i feel so deceived.  Cleaning was supppose to be included – not.  Alterations part of the price – not.  Veil also provided – Told it has to be made but no veil so far.

Hi Ladies,

I made appointment with Molook because I received her flyer at the Bridal Show.  After reading a few poor reviews on yelp, we were hesitant, but still wanted to see what she had, because I loved the dress that was on the flyer.  I pulled her name and address offline.

It IS a house.  The shop is in her basement. She’s an older woman with a thick accent.  She moves slowly and on the phone was difficult to communicate with.  In person, she was sweet.  You can tell she means well, but based on her reviews (aside from her family emergency even) for such an important day and such a big part of that day…the dress…I felt more comfortable going with a more … modern/current/experienced? … vendor.
Prayers to Molook and her family.
Hope that helps!
