I’ve seen a matron of honor stand beside the bride or be seated beside her husband, it depends on their preference. She probably won’t go on the bachelorette trip, but be present at the bridal shower. Ask the bride…?

I think it’s weird and I’ve never seen it done. As far as what the bride plans on having her mother involved with/standing/etc. you would need to ask her. Since it’s an unconventional situation, she might have a different idea of what all her mother will be doing than others might suggest. We can suggest what she might do, but the bride might have an entirely different idea in mind.

ksn1219:  I read the reply…yea. It might be best for you to lay low and see how it plays out then. If the pair of them are ganging  up on you being bridezilla/momzilla, I would just kinda stay out of that aspect of it.

ksn1219:  My friend is getting married for the second time in August. She is 50. Her mom is her MOH. She has no other bridal party. I think it’s great.

ksn1219:  I’ve seen it and think it’s SUPER WEIRD.  Not sure about the arrangements regarding the bachelor party, but I think in the example I saw the Bride did it because she lived out of state and wanted her mom included as much as possible for the wedding.

ksn1219:   +1 It is strange. She already has a role MOB and if she is also giving her away and going to be MOH…just getting silly in my opinion. Oviously the bride can do what she wants but I still think it is weird

ksn1219: My mother is my Matron of honor and my sister is my Maif of Honor. She will be at my shower and not at my bachelorette party. My uncle and my grandpa is giving me away

it’s kinda weird what your friend is doing
