I’d highly suggest a glider. The motion is great for getting your LO back to sleep.

FrenchNewlyWed: I’m not sure I’d like the low reclined back on that one. It looks like it might be hard to get out of, especially holding a baby.

I bought a glider like this: http://www.amazon.com/Stork-Craft-Glider-Espresso-Beige/dp/B005CVX716/ref=sr_1_256?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1415401877&sr=1-256 and really liked it. Almost 20 years later, I still have it and love sitting in it, rocking and remembering those sweet days. Before video games and boys and facebook ruined everything! 🙂

Congratulations, and I hope you find the perfect chair. A Lazyboy would be nice I’m sure. Any chair that you rock your baby in will be special and cozy.

This is the one that we got and it’s aweosme! Well, at least it was awesome until around 7months. Now I get pain in my upper back and ribs almost constantly (38 weeks) and there is no sitting arrangement that makes me more comfortable. But I know the chair will be awesome again once I have the babe! my nursing pillow fits perfect with the armrests too.

I hope the Ikea chair works well for you ladies – that’s what we’re planning on getting (the Poang rocker with footrest).  DH is paranoid about gliders, we have two cats and he’s worried about tails or little baby fingers getting caught in the gliding mechanism.  My parents have the regular Poang chair in their living room, and it’s actually very comfortable, so I’m hoping it works for us then we could move it to the living room when we’re done with it in the nursery 🙂

I originally had a wooden rocking chair with arms and really didn’t like it. It wasn’t comfortable and baby would hit her head on the arms! I bought a Shermag glider and footrest used and I love it.
