My mom was my MOH and had a really tough time finding a dress that was bridesmaidy - but styled for a 52 year old! That wasn't crazy expensive.
I'm not a huge fan of David's Bridal (mainly cause the service at our local one is horrible!) but she found the perfect dress for herself there. It's also a great place to start since they have SUCH a selection - it'll help her maybe find styles to focus on that she likes and are flattering :)
This dress isn't super fancy. It fit our simple intimate wedding perfectly. The neck line and back at some embroidery and flair to dress it up a bit. She was def part of the ceremony!
Oh! I'm so glad that another person is having their mother give her away. I also did that. My mother wore a han-bok (korean traditional dress) for our ceremony and it was beautiful. That may not work for you unless you happen to be Korean, but I just wanted to give you a thumbs-up for deviating from the traditional!

Mine did too! We couldn't decide on anything colorful, so we went with a black dress with small, simple white details...sort of our version of a tux. It was lovely, and she didnt feel like she was clashing or being too matchy-matchy.
My mom is walking me down the aisle too!!
We have to start hunting for the dress! She wants to wear pink which she looks good in..that is all she keeps saying, "i want a pink dress!" lol!
I've noticed that Nordstroms has beautiful gowns that can be worn by the stylish MOB, that isn't too "motherly." I second the hanbok. My Italian MIL wore own during our korean ceremony and she looked stunning in it too.

My mom will be the one walking me down the aisle and giving me away on my wedding day. Althoughmy dad will be at the wedding, he hasn't had a part in my life like my mom so I am giving her the honors.
We have looked for a dress for her but haven't had much luck. She needs something that standouts, being the MOB, but nothing that overshadows me. Any suggestions?
