if it's JUST the dinner reception, she'd only need one outfit.
it would make sense culturally before because there'd be different events going on..
I vote inappropriate.
It's NOT about her and it's only one event. Anything else would detract from the bride.

I don't know where to put this, so I'll put it here. Has anyone ever experienced their family members changing outfits at the dinner reception?
My FI and I want to keep things simple, and as we are both from different cultures, decided to just have the dinner reception. That means no engagement party, no rehearsal dinners, no ceremonies, no bridal party. In my culture, the moms usually get two outfits, one for morning ceremony and one for evening. Since I am not having a ceremony, my mom wants to change outfits during the reception (three outfits!!!). Is this common???
