Sorry! It was there and then I went back to edit a typo and somehow lost half the post! It's back. :)
Not sure what was going on with posting yesterday, but anyway- I was trying to say I think your dress is beautiful!
You look just beautiful in this dress! You have me hunting for a wedding posted on SMP a while back with a wedding where the cake was inspired by the shape of the dress. The subtle mimics of tiers/ruffles is just beautiful and is a concept I think you could reintroduce in the cake! I'll see if I can find the wedding I'm thinking of...
Soooo pretty! And great choice with the double crinoline! It provides just the right amount of pouf without being too poufy.
@pengoala: My cake is going to be four layers, just buttercream on the outside, and it will have polka dots like this --

So it won't be an exact match, but the layers between the lace are pleated plumetti tulle, which has polka dots in it!
I LOVE it! So glad to see that you found your happy medium, combining the parts you loved from other dresses! That's how it worked for me too! Plus, my dress is a Pronovias and I am such a sucker for that line, love their dresses! You look beautiful!

So I have been quiet on here lately with the end of the semester, but I had another appointment at another salon today. I found a dress that combines my original vision of lace with the more bridal dropped waist style I have come to love. Solid lace dresses weren't wowing me, but the striped effect in the lace mimics tiers or ruffles while being a little toned down but still adding interest. I put on a double poof crinny and a veil, got the sniffles, and that was that!
It's Pronovias Malasia:
It needs to be taken in a smidge through the bodice and the hem needs to be taken up every so slightly. My poor alterations woman is going to have a busy 7 (!!!) weeks. :)
But it's a relief to have one that (mostly) fits and looks the way I picture for myself. Cheers all around.
