So my longest friends baby shower was yesterday, andmuch like the wedding, I was the Olny one to show up. ( out of friends invited, her aunts and mil and my mom and gma were there when I asked where the other girls were, 3 never responded, 2 said they would come and then called and told her ” I don’t feel like going out today”
She looked so sad when she told me this and then later when we were talking later she told me she didn’t expect this from them and if anyone was to rsvp no she thought it would be me. ( she has known me forever and knows about my intense dislike of baby showers) so the fact that I came and no one elce did struck her and made her sad.
I wanted to do something to show her that I care, and catch up a bit before my goddaughter gets here.
I was thinking of perhaps taking her to go get a pedicure and out to lunch one day this week. She is 9 months and beginning to drop. Do you think it would be reallyuncomfortable for her to do this? Do you guys have any better ideas?

Well, I’ve never been 9 months pregnant (I’m 6 now), but that sounds really sweet and I bet she would enjoy it. Plus then she’ll have pretty toes for delivery!

At 9 months, my feet were swollen and I was getting anxious to deliver so I wasn’t really cooking anymore… I would have loved something like this!

Do you think sitting for so long would be uncomfortable?

Getting a pedi at 9 months would have been HEAVEN! I was so swollen and my feet were in constant pain. I would loved this, for sure.

@imalittlebirdie: She is lucky to have such a thoughtful and kind friend in her life! Well done you! (I have no idea about the actual answer to the question…)

Getting a pedi at 9 months would have been outstanding. Any little bit of pampering at that point is very very welcome. And lunch? The cherry on top!

Sitting for long periods are not an issue when pregnant. If she had to stand for long then it might be.
I think lunch and some pampering would be a great idea. Anything to make her feel more like herself and sometimes just some girl time helps. Just be prepared for anything that late in the pregnancy 🙂

At 9 months I would have LOVED this my feet were so sore and It was near impossible to get around the baby belly to paint my own toes so I am sure she will LOVE it!

This is a great idea! That was my favorite way to pamper myself when I was pregnant.

I’m 9 months pregnant now and that sounds like a wonderful idea to me! Personally I feel uncomfortable, swollen, with achy muscles and sore feet. I also can no longer reach my toes so a nice pedi would be perfect! Also a lunch out would be a nice way to feel connected with friends. It would give her a chance to talk about baby related things as well as non baby related things (sometimes it feels like thats all I ever think and talk about anymore!)

i think that’s extremely thoughtful and nice of you to even offer! if you’re worried she’d be too uncomfortable (although i’ll second that pedicures are always amazing), you could just run the plan by her to see what she thinks.
