Wow, what a horrible loss for your friend.  In this situation, I love the idea of a mommy shower… are you thinking of nice things for her, like relaxation stuff, gift certs for a mani/pedi, massage, etc?

Wow, that is heartbreaking – I can’t imagine!

I think it would be a great idea to throw a mommy shower for her. Like @SaltedCaramel: said, are you thinking along the lines of spa gift certificates, restaurant certificates, etc? I think whatever you do for her, she will certainly be grateful for the support.

My heart breaks for your friend…what a horrible loss during such a joyful time…my God.

It’s really nice of you to organize this. I agree with PPs: massage certificates, bubble bath, maybe a really pretty nursing nightgown/pajamas if she’s breastfeeding, a robe, etc…

@joleegirl:  Prayers for your friend during this horrible time. It’s soo sweet of you to do this for her. I agree with all the ladies a massage and all that jazz would be wonderful for her. Maybe you can have it on site.

@joleegirl:  I don’t have any advice for you for the shower, but my heart breaks for your friend, what a horrible loss. I will keep her in my prayers.

@joleegirl:  Hmm my baby isn’t here yet but I know I will probably not have time to cook very much so since her son is already here maybe prepped frozen dinners (like soup or baked ziti that sorta thing) just things that will make her life easier

Then maybe some gift cards for new clothes for herself, when she looses her pregnant body?

@joleegirl:  Expanding on what eecuadrado: said regarding prepped frozen dinners, maybe a subscription for pre-cooked meals to be delivered to her house for a few weeks or a month?

@joleegirl:  That is so awful. I can’t even imagine – your poor friend. I don’t know their financial situation – but would monetary donations be helpful for her? I can imagine they’ve just lost an income and if shes a new mom, she cant be working / be on maternity leave. It sounds like she is moving and starting over in a new place w/her families help. I am thinking money/gift cards may be most useful for her.
