I wanted a completely natural birth and I had one.

My labor was six hours from start to finish and by the time I even started thinking I *might* need an epidural, I was going into transition.

I wanted a natural waterbirth. I didn’t get my waterbirth but it was natural.

I wanted a med-free, natural birth and had a c-section. Literally nothing went according to my birth plan.

I went a week past my due date and had to be induced. After 24 hours of unmedicated labor, it was going nowhere so I asked for an epidural. After 36 hours of labor I was only 5 cm dilated and I had a fever and infection so they did a c-section.

I wanted a med free vaginal birth, but she ended up coming 5 weeks early so after 24 hours of labor I threw in the towel and got an epidural. then the doc wanted to give me a c-section because i spiked a very high fever and both of our heart rates were way too high, but i begged her to check me one last time before bringing me to the or, and she gave me the ok to push, so I dodged that bullet!

all 3 deliveries for me were what I wanted.  I had med free all natural vaginal birth (thankfully).  This time around, we’ll see what happens.  I am hoping for the same.

My birth with my daughter (2nd child) was the best.  I labored at home… even did a few last minute packing in between contractions.  By the time we got the the er to check in, it was time for me to push.  Literally 10 minutes or less after arriving at the hospital, I had my dd.  And I didn’t have to push… she wanted to come, no matter how hard I tried to stop it LOL.  Best labor/delivery ever!!!!

no we didnt call for an ambulance.. i went to the hospital on satuday the 6th( on due date) late in the evening – i told the maternity ward my water had broke and i am in labor. the nurse who checked me said there was no way my water had broken and she sent me home.( because of my pregnancies i was a frequent vistor to the maternity ward- this prengnacy i started preterm labor at 26 weeks and had months of bed rest, steroid injections and lots of drs and nurses praying that i keep the baby in as long as possible) when i was released saturday late evening i decided to just go to sleep. sunday i slept pretty much the entire day no contractions or anything. at 2am i felt weird and had the urgency to pee. when i peed there was alot of blood. i called my parents( 2 blocks away) my mom stayed with my other children and my dad drove me to the hospital. we  are bout 25 minute drive from hopsital. every red light i told him to drive through it but just dont do it on the camera lights. grandpa was freaking out he didnt know rather to run the lights and speed or drive calm and collective. we got to intersection where he said he would just pull over if i told him to.. i had my legs up on the dash and just pushed once and he was out he didnt cry which made me freak out and grandpa pulled into the er enterance and was trying to get the security gaurds to get help. i just sat there trying to get my baby to not look blue.. drs came out and got us inside. got baby boy breathing and crying .he was born at 227am. 8pounds 13 ounces 21 inches long.  he had to stay in the nicu due to a lung infection because there was no amnoitic fluid protecting him…

huge lession– trust your gut .he is healthy 4 year old now but super scary start to life.

@BlondeMissMolly:  yes i think the funniest part of the story now looking back on it grandpa was so worried about getting blood or water or any bodliy fluid in his car he had like 6 towels for me to sit on.. not one of them got dirty amazingly… which also leads me to belive my water did infact break befor the whole birthing process

@sailor:  Can you please open multiple voting options. =)

First birth was: wanted unmedicated, got pit, followed by epi, followed by cesarean

Second birth was: wanted unmedicated hbac, got intervention free vbac (we transferred non-emergent at 9 cm)… you couldn’t pay me to opt for a hospital birth. 😉

@asianyoushi:  That’s awesome!!! <3 it! I preferred delivering in the parking lot/side of the road over the hospital! lol

@runsyellowlites:  my first -induced pitocin, epidura, dr broke water, vaginal birth.

second was water broke naturally, pitcoin and epidural and vaginal birth

so i truely thought the only way i can handle births was being drugged up
