My mom is having a really hard time finding a dress. Which was expected because she can never make her mind up! She found one she liked but then a sales lady said she should get something "more fancy" since the dress did not have beading or anything. I told her not to worry about that.
She is having a hard time picking out which color dress she should get. The bridesmaids will be wearing burgundy dresses and my fiance’s mom is wearing a dark blue/teal colored dress. She was thinking about getting a dark blue dress or dark burgundy but didn’t know if it would be too close to the bridesmaid dresses or groom’s mothers dress. Any suggestions on those colors or what other colors may work?? I am not good at determining what is "ok" together so I wasn’t able to help much! I told her what ever she is happy in (as long as it isn’t white!!) is fine wth me. Thank you : )

I doubt it would be a breach of etiquette if your mother wore a dress in the same color as your FMIL, as long as the style was different. What about something in emerald green, gold, or silver? Or deep purple?

I’ve been to plenty of weddings where the two mothers coordinated their dresses – whether similar style; or color. I have a good feeling that I’ll be facing the same when the time comes! Good luck~

Mom found her dress before we found mine–which was fine, it was elegant and champagne colored. MIL found hers after she asked what color I wanted it to be. I gave her lee-way, and it turned out fine. MIL got a dress that suited her personality and Mom hers.

dark blue, dark burgundy, gold, eggplant… anything would be gorgeous with your color scheme!

My mom asked me what I wanted her to wear. That concept was so foreign to me. I just want her to be comfortable, feel pretty, and wear what she wants. I don’t know if it’s common for people to dictate this detail, but I just couldn’t imagine doing so.
My FMIL told me that she’s going to wear pants, and it made me smile. That’s just so her that I love it!
Hopefully your mom finds something that she loves!
