I need some help ladies. My little guy is 5 months old, in size 2 diapers (within the last month), and a belly sleeper at night (for the record, I put him on his back, but he rolls over before I can even leave the room. He can roll both ways, so I’m ok with this). However, ever since he’s been a belly sleeper, he leaks through his diaper every.single,night. The belly sleeping and the diaper size change happend pretty much at the same time, so I don’t think it’s a sizing issue. We usually use Pampers BabyDry which claim to be ok for up to 12 hours. He sleeps 11. We switched to LUVS, and that worked for like 2 nights then leakage happened again. I make sure to point his penis down into the diaper and make sure the diaper is secured nice and tight.
Any advice on how to help keep this from happening? Any diapers that we’re not thinking of? Do I need to go up to a size 3 for overnight?

@Candy_Nee: Have you considered seeing about overnight diapers the ones strictly for overnight that may help other then that maybe a larger diaper?

@Candy_Nee: Also maybe pull ups though it depends on how much he weighs to if they will fit him or not.

how much does he weigh and how long is he?
I had to go up a size at night even if LO hadn’t fully reached the weight but no leaks – I’m a Huggies / Honest Company diaper fan

He’s about 15-16ish pounds I think. And pretty long. I’ve noticed all the overnight diapers don’t start till a size 3. I may have to go up a size for night time even though he’s fine in a 2 during the day. I’m tired of changing the sheets every night! Plus, I’m sure wet jammies isn’t super comfy for him!

Okay so my little boy isn’t due until January…I only opened this thread incase it becomes a problem I wanted to see what others were doing.
With that said you can excuse this as zero experience dummy advice haha … but if the 3’s are too big could you line the front of his 2’s with an overnight maxipad?

We had the same problem do the night diapers, we also had to start up a size earlier we just made sure they were tighter on him. Once in a while now days he leaks through the night diapers but that is user error due to one of us didn’t put the diaper on tight enough.

Our kids rarely slept that long, but when they did, I would feel the diaper before going to bed myself, and change it if it was already fairly full. I found I was able to do it without baby waking up if I was quick and the air wasn’t too cold.

So firstly i have a little boy, he was also a belly sleeper. I had to move him into size 3 at the same time, and pulled them further up at the front. Hope this helps 🙂

My baby is now a month and I’ve found that even when I tuck his penis downward in his diaper, often his urine leaks up and out the side…? So that he ends up wet on the side of his back. It’s a mystery, I have no idea how that happens. Those penises really have a mind of their own. lol

I ended up just going with a size 3 Pampers Baby Dry at night. Since then, he’s gained some weight and we’re ready to up to a size 3 anyway. So far, the 3’s at night are holding it all in and he’s almost always dry.
