So… Every Monday, it never fails.. People are Crabby at my office and I usually end up equally crabby / frustrated with their attitudes. It’s just annoying. Of course everyone would have liked a 3 day weekend. Of course it hurts most people’s brain’s to get back into critical thinking, planning, multi-tasking mode.
But guess what? I have ALWAYS liked Mondays! It’s a fresh start to the week, a new canvas to paint on and create this new chapter. Not only that, but are we not alive today? Most of us are healthy with few complaints other than basic life challenges THAT WE SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR! We are alive, after all, are we not? Today, though it be Monday, is a new day, a day to live, a day to be, and a day we should take time to be grateful for ourselves, our life circumstances (especially for those of us who DO have a job to go to), and most especially, we need to take time to be grateful for each other. EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.
I know this is hard, especially when everyone around us wants to be crabby.. I even want to be crabby sometimes. But you know what? Life is too short, the days are WAY too short, even Mondays. This Monday, TODAY will be over in just a few measly hours.. we will all go home (at least for those of us who happen to be most fortunate to have a home) and we will go on with our basic daily rituals that we find to be habitual – we need to be thankful for each moment in our lives…
I find myself most just crabby in Rush hour – understandably so. I happen to drive 2 hours round trip just for my work commute alone. But lately I have been trying to remind myself of how fortunate I am to 1) actually have a car that can safely take me to and from work 2) have a job that can pay for my fuel to not only get to work, but to also pay for the cost of living, and then some.
This is getting long, and I am surprised at how good it feels to write about it. I don’t want to be crabby, and I don’t want to take my life’s moments for granted… It would be a hell of a lot easier if those around me would jump on board instead of insisting on their Monday Office Crabbiness.
That’s all – if you happen to have read all this, thanks! I hope you (and anybody else who didn’t read all of it!) have wonderful Monday’s and a wonderful week!!
