We are getting married on Monday, July 9, 2012. Our venue had no Saturday's available in July and it is an OOT wedding (at least a 200 - 300 mile trip for most of our guests and a 700+ mile trip for many) so we decided to do a Monday wedding. I'm actually really excited about it because the number 9 is special to me and I just love the date :)

Any other weekday July brides out there?

Hooray! We are thinking Monday July 29th, 2013. My reasoning is as follows: with our venue choice we are saving over $2,500 AND get 2 additional celebration hours at the venue: 5-midnight insstead of 5-10. Second, we both work in hospitality and all that Saturday and Sunday has meant to us is work! So we thought, Monday is our Saturday, let's get married on Monday! Third- almost all of our local guests work in hospitality as well, so it will be way easier for them to get a weekday off than a Saturday. Fourth=most of our guests are from out of town, meaning that for a Saturday wedding, they will have needed to take Thursday off to travel and Friday off for the BBQ rehearsal party. This way, they take Monday off for the wedding, and Tuesday for travel. Still 2 days off from work. Those who really can't make it, can't, and those who can will be there! Also, by giving advance notice, they will be able to plan accordingly.

So, go for the Monday! After all, a day is a day. The Saturday thing is dictated by our culture's work schedule and as far as I'm concerned it's no biggie to stray from that.
