Did you have an awesome money saving story? Did you save a lot on your bills? Get a great deal on a vendor? Hold off on an Etsy purchase and instead had a great DIY session? I’d love to hear about it!
We just got our set of bills in that are due in November and this month alone we combined our phone plans (saved us $60/month) and didn’t turn on our air conditioning at all during from the end of September until now and our electric bill was $150 lower. So that’s $210 into the honeymoon fund from the past month in bill savings alone 🙂

We paid for our honeymoon accommodation a few months ago but I was reviewing our booking today and noticed that they’re having a MASSIVE sale for their third anniversary in business. I emailed asking if they’d lower our rate to the sale cost and they said yes. WOO HOO!!! They refunded me over $750!

@crookedframe: Nicely done!
@beeintraining: We booked our caribbean cruise about 8 months out with Carnival. During the months leading up to the cruise, the price dropped by $400, so I filled out a refund request and got the money back!
Also, a co-workers mother offered to do our wedding cake/cupcakes. We paid $135 for a small round cake, 90 cupcakes and an annivesary cake. It was delicious and saved us about $200.

That’s so fantastic for you both! I’d be like getting free money (granted, you already paid it) but getting unexpected money back is always awesome.

Following the advice of bees, I had a running tab for alcohol with the open bar at my afternoon reception. Took my chances on this rather than paying a flat rate of $23 for each adult.
Bar tab was only about $650, as opposed to the $1100 we would have paid with the flat rate.
Just choosing a Sunday rather than a Saturday saved us a ton of money.
