I need some help from my Catholic bees! Our church states that the “donation” being paid does not get shared with the officiant/deacon. It is used for the church upkeep, precana and the musicians. This being said, are we suppose to tip the deacon who performs our wedding, or get him a gift? what kind of gift or how much of a tip? I am not Catholic, my FI is, so any words of wisdom would be appreciated! Thanks

Yes, something for the celebrant in addition to the church donation is in order. It kind of depends on where you are and how well you know him, but I think we did either $150 or $200 for ours?

We are giving the suggested donation of $250. However we are getting married in Sonoma, so I think living and overall costs are higher.
