I got some of the paper ones from save-on-crafts.com but they are very delicate I would be afraid to try to paint on them....At least u know the fabric one won't rip.....
and I ordered extra just in case some of them got ruined.... a couple of them have holes already...(small holes tho) because the glue that holds the paper on the ribs stuck to other parts of the paper, maybe they closed them before they were completely dry and there were a couple drops of glue still wet.

Hi All =)
We are having a destination wedding down in the Riviera Maya. I would like to DIY 10 monogrammed parasols for the ceremony. I was wondering what everyones experiences were with the rice paper parasols vs the nylons ones. Did one hold up better? Was one easier to paint that the other? Thanks!
