RB- I don't think it's lame as long as you aren't super matchy matchy. Just don't clash and choose something in the same family!

@RB: I think matching would be cute as long as it's not exactly the same for both of you.

    I'm back... I was making bacon & eggs :)

Thanks for the back-up ladies! I'm thinking we're going to go with purple b/c I saw this gorgeous purple dress that I want! It's a deep purple & I'm thinking I'd get him in a lighter shade or something. He looks awesome in color.

I'm so bad at keeping up with the whole beauty thing. I pluck my eybrows, but I hardly ever do it so I look pretty bad (not unibrow bad but not good!). I don't want to go the spa to get it done. Any tips on shaping & keeping your eyebrows nice & pretty?

@pmerr: I haven't had my brows shaped in a while.  I just maintain it with plucking them.  I think it is good to have someone shape them the first time though because then you have a good foundation and you can just pluck the strays that pop up around the edges.

I actually have a professional wax pot from the spa I used to work at. You can buy them at Sally's beauty supply or get the Bliss Waxing Poetic kit at Sephora. Once you get used to it, it's pretty easy. I have to was my chin/lip and eyebrows, so it's too much to have it prof. done all the time. I saw that Allure, the co. that makes false eyelashes has stencils for your eyebrows which might help. Don't ever wax when you are having your period. That's my #1 tip. Super Ouch!

I'd be nervous to wax my own eyebrows, but I've never done it. Yeah, I'd like to get them done & then just go off of that. I'm kinda scared! lol! I'm not a fan of pain! Would a spa be good or should I go to my hair salon (not a spa place)

yeah--RB you kinda confused me! lol..I was hoping it was brows!

@whitesonnet- I use it only for waxing. I've had parrafin tx on my feet and hands and it's nice, but it makes your polish come off faster. I usually save that for the rare spa days I get.

@pmerr: I had mine done at Ulta and they were really nice.  I think it depends on the person though.  And honestly, waxing the eyebrows hurts the least of all the waxing I have had done.

ahh. I'd like to go! I'll probably look at the prices around here. There's an Ulta here-2 actually, but they're far away...well, about 45 minutes away! lol

Speaking of waxing...I have never had ANYTHING waxed before but plan to do so before the wedding so I don't have to worry about shaving on the honeymoon -- any tips or things to know? I still have a long time, but I am sure I will do a trial before the big day to see how it goes. Anything I need to know going in?

I want to wax & such before too! I'd probably just make sure you go in & see how you react-how long it takes irritation or reactions to go away.

@Gemstone: Make sure that you take a painkiller beforehand.  The one thing that I hate about waxing is that you have to let the hair grow out a bit before you can go.  I can't wax my underarms because I can't stand to have hair that long!  For the legs and bikini area letting it grow out isn't so bad.

For me the irritation usually only lasts a couple of hours but other people might have a stronger reaction to it.

I would start doing your waxing way before the wedding. Every person is different, but I can't use the stuff they put on your skin afterwards. It makes me breakout. I just use an ice cube. I've started laser hair removal tx on other "parts"Wink

pmerr and MissAsB...thank you! I definitely want to know how I will react.

How long do you have to let the hair grow prior to waxing? I wonder if that will be hard to do with having a summer wedding? (As in, I will be wanting to wear shorts/dresses, etc)

@AZ: I want laser hair removal so much but I don't have the money!  It would be great to not have to wax or shave anymore.
