@melizabe:  This isn’t going to be totally helpful, but my BIL and his wife got married last September in Stanley, Idaho, and boy was it SO beautiful there.  It’s quite a ways from Boise, but it is stunning, and i’m sure you could find some pretty awesome cabins to stay in! Check it out!

The CDA resort is a pretty nice hotel to meet your fiance’s want. As far as a log cabin,  I don’t know if they’re still nice but there’s a town called kamiah in central idaho (about 4 hours south of cda) and next to (maybe part of?) The  Sacajawea Inn they have actual log cabins with log furniture and fireplaces the whole get up, but rustic not super fancy. This is pretty much the middle of nowhere too.

I’m actually from the area (college in Spokane, grew up in Montana)! CDA Resort is definitely fancy and beautiful. Right on the lake and the perfect place to explore Couer D’Alene; I would definitely recommend it. Glacier Park has many lodges within the park and cute places to stay outside of the park. My cousins always stay at Lake McDonald Lodge (they have cabins to stay in along with the lodge). The great thing about Lake McDonald Lodge is that it is close to everything while still having that outside-campy feel. They have horseback rides leaving right from the lodge, it sits right on the lake, the red car tours leave from the parking lot, and there are bike/walking trails running by it.

You can also look at cabins for rent outside of the park. You could probably get a really good deal from locals who rent their cabins during the summer. We used to do this with our cabin on the lake and a week would be about $500.
