@LissaBabyxo: Can’t really give advice until we know why they are upset. Has he asked them what’s wrong?

That is so bizzare!  It seems like youre close enough that maybe you and your fi could talk with them together?

I would approch the Mom and ask if anything is bothering her. If she says No, then I would mention how much I liked it when a, b and c would happen (give concrete examples). But now x, y and z are happening and it makes you feel sad and confused. If she still says it’s nothing. Then I would end the conversation with, “well something feels like it’s changed between us. I want to continue to have a close relationship. If there is something I’ve done or said, I am open to talking about it.”

Yes, this has happened to me. I assure you (speaking from learning from my own ongoing soap opera) you have to let your fiance handle this. If it’s anything like us and MIL just can’t cut the apron strings, then nothing you will ever say or do will be good enough for them. It’s their son and his parents and he loves you. He wants you in his life forever. He is the one who must go to them. I hope it works out. Trust me, I know, it sucks.
